Lauren's Cool Productivity Tip for Time & Energy Management

As a creative entrepreneur, I appreciate the importance of managing my time and energy.

I'm always trying to squeeze the most out of my day, but here's the kicker: I often UNDERestimate how long tasks will take and OVERestimate how much time and energy I have to get them done.

Sound familiar? If so, you might dig this concept called a “timebox.” First glance, it looks like your typical daily agenda, and it’s probably not a NEW concept, but let me tell you, since I stumbled upon it, it’s has been a game-changer.

And my favorite part is you can customize YOUR timebox to meet YOUR needs.

I’m a notetaker and before using a timebox, my go-to process was to grab my notebook, write everything down for the day, then get to work by - what- turning the page. … and POOF - there goes my priorities for the day! Out of site, out of mind.

NOT ANYMORE!

My timebox has my top priorities for the day, other tasks I need to do, and my favorite - space for a brain dump of everything that pops in my head that I need to get down on paper. Plus a daily schedule on the right.

An unexpected perk: My time box is helping me notice how long it really takes to get things done so that I can be more reasonable with my day.

Hope this has been a helpful tip. And here’s to a happy, healthy, successful and productive New Year! Let’s do it!
